6 Dutourd, Jean Pluche or the Love of Art
Garden City Doubleday 1970 Hardcover Fine Very Good Book
Translated by Robin Chancellor. All right, Dutourd is an acquired taste, partly because he is unclassifiable: artist? novelist? social critic? His books are always interesting, you must admit. Fine binding in VG jacket with some creasing and wear to top edges, including a couple of tiny chips.

7 Engelhorn, Christof Christof Engelhorn: Everyone Wants the Same Painting
Meggen, Switzerland Self-published 2007 First Edition in English; Limited Boards Fine Issued Without Jacket Book
One of 500 copies in English, this is a curious book, ostensibly a written version of some remarks Engelhorn delivered at the Pinakothek of Modern Art in Munich in 2003 on the general subject of a Picasso exhibition there, but actually a ramble through paintings Engelhorn has collected or wishes he had, modern and not-so-modern, in an effort to explain how he knows what's "good" and should therefore be collected. Futile, perhaps, but very interesting. Fine in boards without jacket, probably as issued.

11 Kosuth, Joseph et al. The Fox [journal] 1975 [1st issue]
New York The Art and Language Foundation 1975 First Edition Paper Near-Very Good  Issued Without Jacket Periodical
The very first issue of this journal edited by Sarah Charlesworth, Joseph Kosuth, Michael Corris, Andrew Menard, Preston Heller, and Mel Ramsden with its stated purpose of trying "to establish some kind of community practice" and "the reevaluation of ideology" its editorial thrust. Art as or and politics, terribly earnest, hypercritical, and now, perhaps sadly, history. Articles by Kosuth ("The Artist as Anthropologist"), Mendard, Adrian Piper, and about art in Yugoslavia, pricing works of art, and other subjects not easily rendered here. Pages moderately toned; triangular stain to lower left corner is evidence of previous damp; small spot to front cover, corners lifting.
