2 Fraser, Joyce, Geoffrey Hunter, and Robert Renpenning Three: Joyce Fraser, Geoffrey Hunter, Robert Renpenning
Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada Southern Alberta Art Gallery 1991 First Edition Wraps As Issued Fine Issued Without Jacket Book Signed by Artist
24-page catalogue for an exhibition held June 8-July 7, 1991 based on the premise that "contemplative studio practice" by painters produces both a sense of their own unique regional context/identity and a version of the work of another that has been absorbed into their "core selves". Uh huh. Renpenning is linked with Philip Guston, Fraser with Jasper Johns (and Samuel Beckett), and Hunter with unnamed early assemblage artists. 8 black and white and one color plate illustrate the text. This copy is signed and inscribed (undated) by Joyce Fraser inside the front cover to a fellow artist (the sculptor from whom I acquired this piece). Fine condition in wraps as issued.
