This landmark show was curated by Dorothy C. Miller and William Lieberman, and the catalogue is now a classic, 118 pages, fully illustrated. Includes color photographs of Domoto, Tanaka, Kikuhata, Kojima, and many others, some of whom were in the Gutai group, including Atsuko Tanaka, alone among the men, and one of the few who smiled for her picture. Pictures and brief biographies of the artists. Near-Fine in stiff wraps as issued.

92-page catalogue for an exhibition held January 27-March 28, 1982 at Yale and then at the Art Gallery of Toronto later that year. Artists included Baselitz, Beuys, Hockelmann, Immendorff, Knoebel, Blinky Palermo, Penck, Polke, Gerhard Richter, and Schonebeck--talk about a powerhouse lineup. Many black and white plates accompanied by brief essays and full documentation. Excellent reference. This copy withdrawn from a museum library, with stamps to title page, taped spine label, and card pocket glued inside rear cover. Otherwise, Near-Fine, back cover just beginning to tone around the edges.
