3 Butterfield, Jan [Text] Lita Albuquerque: Reflections
Los Angeles Ca Fellows of Contemporary Art 1990 First Edition Stiff Wraps Near-Fine Issued Without Jacket Book Signed by Artist
Published to accompany the exhibition at the Santa Monica Museum of Art held January 19-April 1, 1990. It's a great deal easier to describe this unusual catalgoue (incidentally, perhaps, INSCRIBED AND SIGNED BY THE ARTIST) than Albuquerque's work, although the design of the object does relate. To say that Albuquerque is a mixed media artist is nearly to miss the point: her work is part performance, part installation, part construction, part assemblage. Occasionally, there appears a work on canvas. The catalogue helps: cutouts in front and back panels show off her striking use of color; a chronology as opposed to a biography outlines her travels, interactions with other artists, and other influences/inspirations; and an interview offers her own voice. You decide, but stay tuned. In folded card covers as issued with cutouts to front and back; corners slightly bent.

Full-page black & white photographs as only Dorr can make them. A treasure. Copy of letter signed by Dorr on her memo paper pasted inside front cover ("The hope of bringing into focus the touchingly human side of our Mexican neighbors was my reason for making this book. It now brings me an added satisfaction that, for the same reason, The Dorr Foundation is making it available to the libraries of America. Nell Dorr").

13 None Ilse Getz: Paintings Collages, Constructions
Purchase, New York Neuberger Museum SUNY Purchase 1978 First Edition Cardboard Covers About Good Issued Without Jacket Book
Gorgeous exhibition catalogue produced by the Neuberger for this show, which then traveled to the Kunsthall Nurnberg am Marientor. Interesting but fragile binding in card covers with a bird cutout to the front: coated stock is perfect-bound with a cloth spine covering, but poorly glued--pages are separating as they are turned, so requires careful handling. This copy INSCRIBED AND SIGNED BY THE ARTIST to the red front paper cover. A card announcing three 1978 exhibitions of Getz's work, with a color illustration of her 1975 'Black, Red & White' box construction on the front, is laid in as a bonus.
