256-pages, including an index of the film people whose photographs are included. Perhaps the best portrait is the one Cartier-Bresson tok of Arnold in 1998. 16 Buskirk, Martha and Reiko Tomii Hitoshi Nomura, Early Works: Sculpture, Photography, Film and Sound
New York McCaffrey Fine Art 2010 First Edition Illustrated Boards Fine Issued Without Jacket Book
88-page catalogue for an exhibition held September 15-October 23, 2010, with many illustrations of the work. The installations are mysterious, despite their apparent simplicity (e.g. Liquid Nitrogen, 1971) as are the early films (e.g., Center of Gravity), but as this catalogue shows, it is the accumulated power of his work that awes. This copy discarded by a museum library, with stamps to endpapers and page edges, taped spine label, and card pocket glued inside rear cover. Otherwise, Fine in illustrated boards without dust jacket as issued.

17 Buvoli, Luca Flying: Practical Training for Intermediates [2-volumes]
Portland OR Portland Institute for Contemporary Art and MIT List Visual Arts Center 2002 First Edition Hardcover Near-Fine Issued Without Jacket Book
Two volumes for a mixed media project subtitled A 33-Step Method Based on Aerodynamic Research. One volume consists of Notes written between 1997 and 2000--it is rectangular, bound in boards, and contains 33 pages of Notes and 13 pages of an Afterword, illustrated with color plates of installations and things. Oh, and there's a pop-up inside the front cover. The other volume is roughly triangular, and contains two smaller paperbound books of roughly the same shape. One is also subtitled The 33-Step Method., consisting mostly of drawings with a few in color, and the other, smaller still, is subtitled Step 27, which is actually a flip book. Both are enclosed in clear plastic sort-of envelopes. This whole thing, designed by Buvoli, makes much more sense when you see it, of course. The one thing NOT included is an 18-minute film-transferred-to-video, which one could have used. Altogether, a neat attempt by the artist to document his thinking about how man could fly without mechanical assistance. Volume one has a little wear to the corners; volume two has bumped corners and light wear to the leading edge.

Practically every cel is shown, in all stages of production, and one is grateful for the book's index. Very Good to Near-Fine: light edge-wear and an incipient crease to the front cover; stamp to half-title indicating that the Easter Seal Society of New York "presented" the book, and that Xerox Corporation "donated" it.
