181 Hankins, Evelyn C. New Turf
Burlington, Vermont Robert Hull Fleming Museum, University of Vermont 2005 First Edition Stiff Wraps As Issued Fine Issued Without Jacket Book
50-page catalogue for an exhibition held July 6-October 30, 2005, with a good essay by Hankins, and illustrated with 15 color plates and another half dozen in black and white. Each of the artists gets a color plate and a biography: Anne Appleby, Louise Belcourt, Janice Caswell, Marsha Cottrell, Jane Fine, tom Fruin, Richard Garrison, John Hudak, McKendree Key, Marie Krane/Cream Co., Sandy Litchfield, David Maisel, Sam Prekop, Lordy Rodriguez, and Gail Salzman. Hankins defines the theme as "abstracted landscape", but I'd broaden it to geography-as-concept. All interesting takes on the idea. Fine in stiff wraps as issued.

183 Harrison, James James Harrison
Brooklyn NY Ledisflam 1989 First Edition Stiff Wraps Fine Issued Without Jacket Book
32-page catalogue for an exhibition held in Brooklyn in two parts, and later at the Dart Gallery in Chicago and the Addison/Ripley Gallery in Washington, D.C. Gregory Galligan, who wrote the introduction, characterizes Harrison as "a second-generation maverick of the New York School", but you won't need the label to enjoy the 22 color plates of Harrison's work with pastel, pencil, paint, and other materials on a variety of subjects from mythic figures to literary myths. Fine in stiff wraps as issued, but the so-called perfect binding may be a bit fragile, the glue drying, so take care in opening the pages flat.
