Both King Simeon of Bulgaria and an Archduchess of Austria have contributed a preface, and there are essays on "The Triumph of the Qalam, and Arabic and Persian manuscripts. In addition to a bibliography and glossary, there are also lists of the individuals and organizations that lent Islamic manuscripts, and publications of Russian Academy of Sciences publications on the manuscripts. Nearly all the plates are in color and fully described and captioned, making this a valuable resource in this area. Very heavy, so be prepared for extra shipping charges.
