Frontispiece and 6 illustrations in color, many others in black and white from photographs (more than 200 in all) taken by English, a Royal Photographic Society Fellow and Medalist. A lively and relatively factual trip through the woods and fields with an eye to the creatures interesting to children, organized by seasons of the year. In Very Good+ condition, slightly shelf-cocked, rear joint frayed a little, and worn to spine ends and corners. Spine is a bit scuffed, but gilt decorations on front cover are still bright.
