Longfellow, Henry Wadsworth Maidenhood Boston MA Estes & Lauriat 1885 Paper Very Good Issued Without Jacket Unknown Undated, but probably ca 1880-90 illustrated edition of Longfellow's poem, probably intended as a gift edition and probably issued in a limited edition. In decorated textured paper covers and bound with thread and ribbon. Delicate and highly decorative paintings in color and black and white on every page. The color work looks like late Victorian china painting, at least in style. 18 pgaes plus covers; 8.75'' x 6.25''. Corners and spine ends are worn; small closed tear (only relly visible from inside) to lower front edge; ribbon is frayed and extremely fragile, but the binding is holding. Price: 40.00 USD
