Monograph published to coincide with an exhibition. Essays by Peter Selz (curator), Kneeland McNulty, Lawrence Dinnean, and Herschel B. Chipp, plus the artist's selected writings. Biography, exhibitions list, selected bibliography-all in 66 pages. Color covers and 5 additional color pages; profusely illustrated with photographs of the work, sketches. Paris is, uh, a sculptor or construction artist. The exhibition catalogue categorizes the work as graphic, ceramic, cast, environmental, vacuum-formed, bronze… OK so far, but then comes the group of "Untouchable Souls," a series of sculptures sealed in transparent Plexiglass, followed by "Soft Souls," a series of sculptures made of transparent cast silicon rubber with colorants and phospholuminescent pigments added, some of which are named after artists. His work is definitely an acquired taste. Fine condition.
