124 page catalogue for an exhibition held at Storrs October 25-December 24, 1987, and later at the University of Vermont. Essays by Sylvia Bakos, Oliver Botar, Serge Fauchereau, Herbertus Gassner, and Esther Levinger make this at least half a scholarly work. Only 15 color plates, which is a shame, since avant-garde work in this period was nothing if not colorful, but many others in black and white tell the full story. What's fine is that many of these artists may be unfamiliar, and some are seriously under-rated, like Hugo Scheiber, the Futurist who almost made it to Brooklyn. Fine in folded stiff wraps as issued.
