Exhibition catalogue in softcover as issued. The Whitney annuals and biennials are justly famous, and '75 was a VERY good year. Visual artists range from Martha Alf to Ellyn Zimmerman and video artists from Billy Adler to Bill Viola. All illustrated in black and white and accompanied by brief biographies of the artists. Media are all over the place, of course: metal and mineral, vegetable, and even acrylic. I'm particularly taken with "W. B. Bearman Bags a Job" (performance), the paintings by Ross Bleckner and Sam Cady, the constructions of Jerry Jones and Hass Murphy, and the clay thing that Charles Simonds built in the parking lot. Catalogue is bumped to spine ends, has a crease to the front cover, and is lightly soiled.
