The artists are Julia Heyward, John Mason, Mary Miss, and Elyn Zimmerman. The projects are part performance art, part made art, all live, and all involving the cooperation of a group, rotating among various locations. The results are fascinating. For example, Heyward buried herself and the group in sand for the video camera in California and taped her own performance art in Minneapolis. Mason painted a huge geometric work on playing fields, constructed a huge thing out of stones, and installed iron angles on a lawn. This was the Seventies, remember, when artists in all disciplines were exploring "live" art (some called "happenings"). Very Good in spiral-bound card covers with some wear to corners.
