Author Name Minneapolis College of Art and Design Title 4 Artists 16 Projects: A Cooperative Workshop/Exhibitions Program Binding Spiral in Cardboard Book Condition Very Good Jacket Condition Issued Without Jacket Edition First Edition Publisher Minneapolis MN Minneapolis College of Art and Design 1979 Seller ID 2319 The artists are Julia Heyward, John Mason, Mary Miss, and Elyn Zimmerman. The projects are part performance art, part made art, all live, and all involving the cooperation of a group, rotating among various locations. The results are fascinating. For example, Heyward buried herself and the group in sand for the video camera in California and taped her own performance art in Minneapolis. Mason painted a huge geometric work on playing fields, constructed a huge thing out of stones, and installed iron angles on a lawn. This was the Seventies, remember, when artists in all disciplines were exploring "live" art (some called "happenings"). Very Good in spiral-bound card covers with some wear to corners.
