Commemorating the bimillenium of the birth of Augustus. Small catalogue in wraps that packs a wallop, with a very knowledgeable text introduction, 64 black & white plates that hardly encompass what was exhibited at the time in sculpture, architecture, and the "minor" arts: silver, glass, pottery, mural reliefs and wall painting, engraved gems, coins, small bronzes, marbles, and ivories. So luxurious, yet so Augustan! This copy, one of a thousand printed in December of 1938 by the Marchbanks Press in New York, is in fine condition with slight wear to the edges.
