28-page catalogue (one of 1000 printed) for an exhibition of Paintings and Constructions at the Albright-Knox January 28-March 18, 1984 and one of drawings at Hallwalls February 3-25, 1984. The first plate, a full-page black and white photograph of Merz from behind: he's wearing a dark raincoat and looking up at one of his "things" (which also involves a raincoat) on the wall; lots of white space. Very cool photograph, credited to Biff Henrich, who did most of the photographs in the catalogue. There are 11 additional black and white photographs and one two-page spread. The paintings give a first impression of primeval ooze-like creatures, but maybe they improve on viewing live. Nice essay by Susan Krane, a poem by Merz, exhibition history, and bibliography also included. Near-Fine in stiff wraps as issued: discreet stamp inside front cover indicates this copy was withdrawn from the main library at the Johnson in Ithaca NY.
