The full title, "The Flower Gardens of Gertrude Jekyll and Their Twentieth Century Transformations" attempts to put Jekyll's work in context, and Van Valkenburgh has provided a sound essay on the subject. Fully illustrated with many--mostly black and white--plates, including foldouts. As such, an important contemporary take on this brilliant designer whose chosen medium just happened to be living material. Very Good condition: lower front corner slightly bent, some Wite-Out to front cover (not affecting image) for an unknown reason.
