Usually wary of books described as offering "a panoramic view" of anything, I found this panorama of advertising compelling. At 324 pages, it's hard to tote around or sit with, but worth it. Consider how many 20th century well-known fine artists passed through an "advertising phase"! They're all here, plus a wealth of not-so-well-known talent. In addition, the evolution of the graphic arts is here clearly charted, in full color. Fine index, too. The hardcover binding is fine; the dust jacket has a closed tear to the rear side of the spine head.
