Part of MoMA's Contemporaries, A Photography Series, 1995; 1st softcover edition. 52 black and white plates of Ross's portraits leave one wanting to see more, although you may, as I did, get stuck on the front cover, where three pre-adolescent girls in swimsuits have posed for the photographer. All of them look like their fathers (who are not in the picture), but there the similarities end. Inside, there are portraits of Congressional representatives and their aides, school children, visitors to the Vietnam Memorial, and summertime shots of visitors to a park. Supported with an essay by Susan Kismaric, a chronology, and brief bibliography. Fine in folded wraps as issued, except that someone has written "Hearst Foundation 1985" in blue marker on the half-title page. Tsk.
