16-page catalogue for an exhibition held in Indianapolis June 28-September 13, 1987, and thereafter at the Queens (New York) Museum, the Center for Fine Arts in Miami, and the Centro Culutral/Arte Contemporaneo in Mexico City. 13 black and white plates and one in color (front cover). There were 30 artists in the show; pictured are works by those you'd expect to see in such an overview---Kahlo, Torres-Garcia, Tamayo, Lam, Botero, Siron Franco, and Matta, and some unexpected artists---Aizenberg, Jacopo Borges, Arnaldo Roches Rabell, Solar and Tsuchiya. Very good essay by Joanne Kuebler. Fine in stiff wraps as issued.
