While my Flemish isn't all it ought to be-and nearly all the text of this catalogue is in Flemish-I rely on the visuals to get the point of this collection of work by a group of artists in an attempt to meet the requirements of the so-called Two Percent Rule enacted in Brussels in 1986. The Rule states that two percent of the cost of a public building be devoted to art. Irresistible, apparently, to Franky DC, Anne Decock, Dora Garcia, and many others, who took on the challenge of sometimes mundane architecture and sterile environments to create an astonishing variety of "site-specific" work, from video and photography to sculpture and painting. Part of the fun of the catalogue is trying to "read" it-the pages are all foldouts. Tricky.
