144-page catalogue for an exhibition held March 27-April 26, 2008, with comprehensive color-illustrated text by Peters, a contribution by Katherine Bogden and Sarah Hardin, a chronology, and welcome index, and an appendix describing Benjamin's contemporaries. Lovely, lovely frontispiece portrait of the artist by Milton Avery prepares you for this nostalgic ramble through most of the 20th century, illustrated with color plates. His landscapes are fine, but he never quite gave up on the portrait and that is where he shines, for me. Fine in illustrated boards without dust jacket as issued. Lightly bent corners.
