132-page book published to coincide with an exhibition that opened at the Art Institute in Chicago and then traveled to the De Young in San Francisco and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The photographs were made between 1957 and 1968 and constitute a significant part of Meatyard's oeuvre. Illustrated with more than 50 black and white images, many featuring children. Alternately macabre and surreal. Definitely an essential for the 20th century photography collector. Fine hardcover binding in Fine illustrated dust jacket.
