60-page reprint of the 1935 first edition. An important resource, incorporating and based on the exhibition of Malvin Gray Johnson paintings and sculpture by Richmond Barthe and Sargent Johson (New York: Harmon Foundation and Delphic Studios, April 22 - May 4, 1945). Illustrated with 28 black and white images of the work, plus numerous photographs of the artists at work. Includes a detailed directory of more than 100 artists which includes address, date and place of birth, education, awards, commissions, and exhibition history. This copy withdrawn from a university library, with ghost of taped spine label, bar code label inside front cover, card pocket to first free endpaper, stamp and pencil notations to title page, and faint stamps to a few pages not affecting illustrations. Otherwise, Very Good in sturdy library hard cover binding with small chip to spine head. Uncommon. Please e-mail with inquiries about specific artists.
